My first love has always been art. It started with an obsession to draw everything I could with a pencil medium and graduated to pen & ink. I never was much for watercolors or oils of my own but have often marveled at the work of others. Although I sure do enjoy photography and have a strong desire to become a lot better, I still enjoy other photographers work the most. I live in Montana where we have much beauty around me. The wildlife is plentiful and the scenery can be really beautiful too. There is certainly no shortage of subjects to shoot. I have learned though that simply having good subjects to photograph is not much help if you do not understand the concept of utilizing interesting lighting in the pictures. Photography is often described as being the art of painting with light. Nothing is closer to the truth. Using the environmental variables to enhance a photo, that is my foremost thought when shooting.
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take but rather by the things that take our breath away
